Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.


Article Processing Charge (APC)

There are no fees for submitting an article or for the peer review process. To cover the costs of open access publication, an Article Processing Charge (APC) is applied to all manuscripts after they have been accepted for publication.

Health Promotion Science is a non-commercial, academic journal dedicated to the free dissemination of scientific knowledge in the field of public health.
 
There are no charges at any stage of the publication process.
This includes:
  • Article submission
  • Peer review
  • Editing and typesetting
  • Online publication
 
All authors—regardless of nationality or institutional affiliation—publish their accepted manuscripts completely free of charge.
 
The journal does not impose any article processing charges (APCs), page fees, submission fees, or publication fees under any circumstances.
 
Operated on a voluntary and non-profit basis by academic staff, Health Promotion Science receives no funding from commercial publishers and adheres to the principles of equitable and barrier-free scholarly communication.

Publication Fee Policy

No Fees During Submission

Health Promotion Sciences journal does NOT charge any fees for manuscript submission, peer review, or editorial processing. Authors can submit their manuscripts completely free of charge.

Payment After Acceptance

Publication fees are required ONLY after your article has been formally accepted for publication. You will receive an email notification with payment instructions once your manuscript is accepted.

Fee Amounts

  • Iranian Authors: 5,000,000 IRR per article (for 2025 issues)
  • Non-Iranian Authors: 50 Euro per article

Criteria for Iranian Articles

For an article to be considered "Iranian" (eligible for the reduced fee of 3,000,000 IRR), the following three criteria must be met simultaneously:

  1. The first author's institutional affiliation must be located in Iran.
  2. The corresponding author's institutional affiliation must be located in Iran.
  3. At least half of all authors' institutional affiliations must be located in Iran.

If your article does not meet all three criteria, the standard fee of 50 Euro will apply.

Fee Waiver Policy

We understand that some authors may face financial difficulties. If you believe you qualify for a fee waiver or reduction, please contact the journal office at info@healthpromotionjournal.ir before submission to discuss your situation.

  • All fees are non-refundable once the article has been published.
  • Payment must be completed within 30 days of acceptance notification.
  • Articles will not be published until payment is confirmed.
