Diversity Statement
Health Promotion Science Portfolio Diversity Goals:
Further diversify our editorial boards and editorial leadership positions based on geography, ethnicity, gender identity, career stage, and cultural background, among other diversifying characteristics.
Educate journal staff about current inequities in the health promotion research community and actively ameliorate these issues.
Improve the clarity of our journal pages and articles so that all information is more accessible to readers.
Encourage reviewers to consider, among other evaluation criteria, whether a particular submission's citations reflect the journal's commitment to diversity.
Ask editors, including editors of special issues, to consider the balance of voices represented when making assignments and to actively seek contributions from scholars belonging to underrepresented groups.
Disclaimer: The diversity goals of the Health Promotion Science Portfolio will be updated and modified as we continue to learn, observe, and evolve. We welcome suggestions on how we can continue to improve.
